St. James 7th grade girls' volleyball team takes 2nd place

Arlington Heights, IL. November 4, 2012 —The 7th grade girls' volleyball team had a wild ride in the tournament match against Our Lady of Wayside! After a great season, with a record of 13-3, the St. James Bulldogs played exceptionally well in the tournament matches this past week and made it to the final game at St. Viator High School on Sunday night. The Bulldogs and Wildcats put on a well-played match, with great excitement going into a 3rd deciding game. And, what a game! The score went into post game scoring and OLW won in game three with a score of 28-26. Played with determination, teamwork, drive, respect, and spirit on both teams, the Lady Bulldogs came up just short. But, they had a remarkable season and grew as a team under the direction of Coach Mary Beth Pettenuzzo with Assistant Coaches Carolyn Versen and Bernadette Colmone.

The team members were led by spikers Amy Morgan, Erin McGrath, Adrianna Archie, Stefanie Flynn and setters Margherite Pettenuzzo, Ellie Fahey, Danielle Versen, Katie McGrath and hitters Alyssa Andruszko, McKenna Clapper, Kelly Colmone, Lucia Faraci, Anna Gorman, Megan Lifka, Sarah McGrath, and Greta Zimmerman.
