Offenders’ families unfairly punished
Once again the state of Illinois has made an amendment to the trick-or-treat law. As it is written right now, once a sex offender has completed parole or probation or is on supervised release, he or she may participate in Halloween. Starting Jan. 1, anyone living in the home of a sex offender cannot participate in Halloween. This law takes away the rights of people who have done nothing wrong. The families should not be punished. We cannot let the paranoia control our lives.
