In addition, the park district is hosting a Veterans Day Luncheon from noon to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Prisco Community Center.

"We urge our residents to express gratitude to and recognize the sacrifice and valor of our active and former servicemen and women," said Laurie Hoffman, director of recreation and communications.

The offers apply to all veterans and active military -- and their immediate dependents -- as well as members of the National Guard and Reserves. Participants must show a valid military ID card.
