Watch football for good cause:

The Palatine Opportunity Center will hold the second annual Fall Football Fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Golf Nation, 399 N. Quentin Road, Palatine. Tickets are available for a $30 donation and include the televised Bears vs. Titans football game, two golf simulators, games, raffles, two free beer coupons, all-you-can-eat chili and a $30 guest pass to Golf Nation. Learn about early education:

Oakton Community College will conduct three free informational sessions on early childhood education at both its campuses in November. The sessions will showcase the college’s early childhood education degrees and certificates and offer information about Illinois credentials and transfer agreements. Early childhood education employment is one of the fastest growing fields, and is expected to increase by 20 percent from 2012 to 2020, according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Sessions will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Room C140 at the Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.; and 12:30 and 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in Room 2140 of the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Des Plaines apts. lauded:

The Chicagoland Apartment Association recently announced its 2012 CAMME award winners, including Morningside’s River 595 Luxury Rentals in downtown Des Plaines, which received the Property Excellence award in the new construction category, city officials said. The team marketing the Des Plaines property beat several luxury rental buildings in downtown Chicago to earn the award. River 595 was recognized for its outstanding marketing, management, and leasing, city officials said. Since its initial lease-up following construction completion, River 595 has consistently maintained near 100 percent occupancy, high tenant retention, and outstanding customer service, according to the city. It’s the second consecutive year a Morningside property received the Property Excellence award.

Hoffman Estates senior lunch:

The Village of Hoffman Estates Commission for Senior Citizens is hosting a Harvest Luncheon at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Stonegate Conference & Banquet Centre, 2401 W. Higgins Road. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $18 per person. To register, write the name, address and phone number of all attendees on a sheet of paper and mail the information to the Commission for Senior Citizens c/o Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169, along with a check payable to the “Village of Hoffman Estates.” Call (847) 781-2606 for more information.
