Blind eye to clerk's office cronyism?

I am responding to the Daily Herald's endorsement of the Clerk of the Circuit Court on Oct 17 2012.

By endorsing the incumbent Mr. Kachiroubas for Clerk, even after knowing about the pension deal made with Mr. Maio, the Daily Herald turns a blind eye or even worse, condones this practice of political cronyism.

I am somewhat heartened that this issue was brought to light in the Oct. 23 article by John Stockinger, "DuPage court clerk candidates spar over pay raises, pension." The voters of this county deserve to know how cozy the Republican elected officials have been, watching out for one another's back. The time has come to stop feathering nests with taxpayers' dollars.

Democratic challenger Ralph Scalise has the credentials and the ethics to step into this position and I strongly encourage the voters to tell the elected officials that it will no longer be "business as usual."
