Bloomingdale firefighters had a side by side sprinkler burn demonstration on Thursday at the fire station for the Bloomingdale Intergovernmental Group. The fire department will hold an open house this Saturday, which will include a repeat of the fire demonstration.

Open face sandwiches and finger sandwiches are on the "menu" for Sue Villanova's "Dead End Diner" themed Halloween house at 920 Ash Street in St. Charles. Villanova has been part of the event for the past 12 years, and is known by many as the Queen of Halloween. This year's theme came to her as she lives on a dead end street.
