Halloween history and ghost stories will be featured in upcoming programs at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg. Anyone planning to attend must register by calling the library or calling (847) 923-3347. “Halloween History” will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 in the Rasmussen North Room. For anyone who has ever wondered why pumpkins and monsters play a key role in Halloween, this program will unveil the mystery. Presenter Mike McCann will provide a glimpse into why and how we celebrate this macabre holiday. For those who can’t resist an evening of ghost stories, “City of Ghosts” will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 in the Rasmussen South Room.
