Autumn Leaves hosts health fair Nov. 2

Autumn Leaves of Orland Park is hosting a highly informative, interactive health fair for the public. The event will focus on dementia care, and will include meaningful tips about how to help loved ones with Alzheimer's or dementia. The event will also include information about how to care for someone with dementia, financial tools, and resources to help caregivers. There is a tremendous need to make information available as 1 in 3 families is affected by Alzheimer's in the United States, and 210,000 people over 65 in Illinois have Alzheimer's. The health fair will take place on November 2nd from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The event will include a free light breakfast and lunch.

“We are excited to open up Autumn Leaves of Orland Park to the public,” said Jackie Love, community relations director, Autumn Leaves of Orland Park. “We feel it is our duty to reach out to families who live in the area, and we hope to provide them with support and education about resources. We will also offer free blood pressure and

glucose tests at the event.”

The health fair will include a free light breakfast and lunch. Representatives from Peace Village, Joliet Area Community Hospice, 1st Assist Home Health, Vitas Hospice and Orland Park Police Department will be available to talk with the public. Staff from Autumn Leaves of Orland Park will also be on hand to answer any questions.

“We want families to know that people are out there to support them,” said Brad Jacobsen, regional sales director, Constant Care Family Management, the property management company for Autumn Leaves memory care communities. “They don't have to walk the journey alone. There are organizations that can provide assistance, and our community is here to help them.”
