Man caught smoking pot in front of police chief’s home pleads guilty

An 18-year-old Montgomery man caught smoking pot in front of a police chief’s house in Naperville has been sentenced to time served in jail and two years of probation, authorities said Wednesday.

Maximilian Salling pleaded guilty to manufacturing or delivery of cannabis and was sentenced Friday by DuPage County Judge Robert Kleeman. Salling was arrested after he was caught smoking marijuana in a vehicle parked in front of Villa Park Police Chief Robert Pavelchik’s home in Naperville on Sept. 13.

Pavelchik said he found Salling using drugs and held him until Naperville officers arrived. Salling served 37 days in jail, according to court records.
