Endorsement: Wegman over Rodgers for Kane recorder

After 12 years at the helm of the Kane County recorder of deeds office, it seems safe to say that Republican incumbent Sandy Wegman has the office in ship shape. Committed to transparency and, especially, technology, she has continually worked to upgrade the efficiency and customer-service appeal of an office that may rarely interact with the general public but where accuracy and accessibility of public records is a paramount objective. And she has plans under way to initiate even more technology innovations if she's re-elected to a new term. All this while watching her staff decline by more than 40 percent. Wegman's Democratic opponent, real estate agent Brenda Rodgers, is sincere and likable but lacks the background and management experience she would need in this office. Wegman is the clear choice.
