Detailed information on the search for a new school superintendent in Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 is available on the Internet.

District 59 began its search for a new superintendent last spring following Dr. Dan Schweers' decision to retire at the end of the 2012/13 school year. The district hired consultants at School Exec Connect to manage the search.

They led 10 focus groups, consisting of parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, community members and business leaders, to gather feedback regarding the district's strengths and areas in need of improvement, as well as the desired characteristics for a new superintendent. The firm also offered an online survey and a printed survey in English, Spanish and Polish that was available in schools.

On Oct. 9, Harry Rossi and Gary Zabilka of School Exec Connect presented a summary of the results to the boar. The information is on the District 59 website at www.ccsd59.org.
