Feel the rhythm at ‘TAP’ show in Batavia

“TAP — The Show” will be in town for a one-night-only performance at 7:30 p.m. today at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre, 1201 Main St. Join the fun as a team of dancers perform in this high-energy, powerhouse production.

“TAP — The Show” is fueled by a nonstop explosion of rhythmic energy. Wrapped in dazzling costumes and backed by an orchestral score, this cast of award-winning dancers and singers travels seamlessly over decades of styles from Broadway and big band to world music and pop/rock.

The Batavia Fine Arts Centre stage will be brought to life with iconic tap moments of the past and new dance moves to amaze audiences of today. Included in this extravaganza are re-creations of some of your favorite Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly numbers, Broadway showstoppers, smooth and sultry soft shoe, flamenco, tribal, Irish step and more.

The Batavia Fine Arts Centre has an entrance on Wilson Street. The Centre opened its doors Aug. 20, 2012. Currently, the fine arts center hosts many regional organizations, community musical and theater groups, and is home to an international touring series.
