Submitted by Mundelein High School District 120

Mundelein High School Vocal Music Department’s Mundelein Idol will take place Saturday, Oct. 13, but with a twist: two winners will be crowned. The event has now been divided into two age groups, with each having its own winner.

Mundelein Idol, Jr. will be for singers ages 13 or younger. Their competition will be from 2-5 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium. Later, from 7-10 p.m., the contest will take place for singers ages 14 and older.

Both contests will feature the same format. Sixteen singers will sing in Round 1. The audience will choose the top eight contestants to return and sing a different song in Round 2. The audience will again vote for three finalists to sing in Round 3. Following that round, the new Mundelein Idol will be crowned.

“This is a great contest that features very high quality performances by singers from all around the Chicago area,” said John Neubauer, vocal music director. “To enter, download the application from the website and follow those directions.”

Mundelein High School is at 1350 W. Hawley St., Mundelein.

Details and application forms are available under Activities, Sound and Lights, at www.d120.org.
