Prospect’s blood drive Nov. 3

In conjunction with LifeSource, Prospect High School will hold a communitywide blood drive from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the school. Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to attend and donate. The drive will be held in the field house foyer, and prospective donors should enter through Door #24.

The drive is open to anyone at least 16-years old. All high school students will need to submit a signed parent permission form in order to donate. All donors must weigh at least 110 lbs. Donors are highly encouraged to drink fluids and eat before donating.

To sign up or to get more information, contact Dave Jacobson at Prospect High School (847) 718-5230 or david.jacobson@d214.org or go to www.lifesource.org.

Due to the success of last year’s blood drives, Prospect High School has received $1,750 from LifeSource to distribute to high school seniors who donate at one of this year’s two blood drives. The money will be split into five $350 scholarships to be awarded following the March 9 blood drive. Seniors who successfully donate blood at either the Nov. 3 or March 9 blood drive will be asked to fill out raffle tickets. Following the March blood drive, three raffle tickets will be drawn and the winners will be awarded the scholarships. Checks will then be sent to the respective college/university of the three winners upon verification of enrollment.
