The Fire Department will be offering FREE classes in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to Des Plaines residents at 7 PM, Tuesday, October 16, 2012, and at 7 PM, Monday, November 5, 2012, at Fire Station 1, 405 S. River Road. These sessions will follow the American Heart Association's "Friends and Family CPR" classes, which include basic instruction in adult, child, and infant CPR.

The use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which are devices located in many public buildings for emergency use, will be addressed. Attendees must be Des Plaines residents 16 years of age or older. Class attendees will NOT receive certification.
