The Literary Review Book Club of Des Plaines recently made a $500 donation to the Friends of the Des Plaines Public Library. The gift will be used by the Friends to fund a special purchase for the library.
The Book Club holds five luncheon/book reviews each year at the Des Plaines Elks Club, beginning on Friday, Oct. 12, and continuing on Nov. 9, Feb. 8, March 8 and May 10. The Friends have sponsored these events for more than a decade to provide an enjoyable luncheon and to promote books on interesting subjects.
