The Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn has recently contributed $108 to sponsor two needy, local children served by the Humanitarian Service Project (HSP) of DuPage County. These children are enrolled in HSP's Children's Birthday Project, which provides 875 needy children from age 3-11 in DuPage and parts of Kane Counties with a 20 to 25 pound package of gifts, and party supplies to provide them with a memorable birthday party. The Kiwanis' support of the project is part of their commitment to the motto of Kiwanis International, "Serving the Children of the World."

The Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn has been engaged in serving the needs of the community through a number of initiatives since being founded in 1954. In addition to sponsoring needy children served by HSP, the club supports numerous other local community groups including Teen Parent Connection, Bridge Communities, and the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. The group meets twice monthly at the Glen Oak restaurant in Glen Ellyn, on selected Tuesdays from 7 to 8 AM.
