Round Lake wraps up Prairie

Round Lake's boys soccer team completed a perfect run through the North Suburban Conference Prairie Division Thursday night.

Mariano Narvaez scored a goal in each half, as the Panthers shut out host Grant 7-0. Mauricio Salgado added a goal and 2 assists for Round Lake (16-2-1, 6-0), which is 13-0-1 in its last 14 games. Freddie Ramirez, Abraham Murua, Miguel Salgado and Edgar Rodriguez also scored. Lorenzo Cortez had a pair of assists, while Eddie Ramirez and Rodriguez also assisted on goals.

Grant finished 1-5 in the NSC Prairie.

Lake Zurich 3, Lake Forest 2: Tim Burroughs scored twice, and Ian Murray had a goal and an assist for the host Bears, who improved to 6-8-2 and 3-2 in the North Suburban Lake.

Matt Montemayor also had an assist for Lake Zurich.

Grayslake North 6, Hampshire 0: Sintayehu Meyer had 2 goals and 2 assists for the Knights in the Fox Valley Fox Division match.

Grayslake North (7-14, 4-2) also got goals from Arnaud Laroche-Bataille, Gavin Amburn, Chris Zamora and Andreas Thedorf. Baruk Perez-Vera contributed a pair of assists for the Knights, and Fernando Sanchez and Nick Rice also had assists.

Dean Jones made 2 saves in earning the clean sheet.

Wauconda 1, Antioch 0: Brandon Morales knocked in a second-half penalty kick, and Cristian Tapia had 7 saves in earning the shutout for the Bulldogs in the North Suburban Prairie match.

Wauconda improved to 8-9-3. Antioch fell to 9-7-3 and finished 2-2-2 in the NSC Prairie.

Stevenson 1, Mundelein 0: Jun Min's second-half strike off an assist from Cesar Navarro was all the Patriots and keeper Quentin Low needed in the North Suburban Lake contest.

Low stopped 6 shots, as Stevenson improved to 12-3-1 and 4-1-1 in the division.
