Suspected burglar fatally shot at N. Indiana home

ELKHART, Ind. -- Police in northern Indiana say a suspected home burglar was killed and an accomplice wounded in a shooting.

Police were called Wednesday to a home in Elkhart on a report of shots being fired after two people had forced their way inside.

Sgt. Steve Price tells The Elkhart Truth that 21-year-old Danzele Johnson was killed and investigators believe he was an intruder at the home. A juvenile found wounded at the home was taken to a hospital for treatment and released.

Police say another juvenile was caught after a foot chase about a block from the home and that both juveniles were in custody while the circumstances of the shooting were being investigated.
