Waterleaf Restaurant celebrates first year with free dessert, new menu

Waterleaf Restaurant Celebrates First Anniversary with Free Dessert and New Menu Guests are invited to celebrate Waterleaf's first birthday Oct. 12 to 14, where they will be treated to a complimentary glass of champagne and a Pecan and Bourbon Bread Pudding with Butterscotch Ice Cream dessert (pictured).

Waterleaf has also ushered in its first year with a newly unveiled autumn menu that contains a tantalizing array of fall dishes featuring seasonal squashes, root vegetables, figs and fall-harvest fruits.

Highlights of the new menu developed by Executive Chef Jean-Louis Clerc, include Porcupine Prawn with Spaghetti Squash Confit, Apple Cider, Sage Glaze; seasonally created Soup of the Day; Parsnip Mashed Potatoes; seasonal Risotto; Ravioli with Squash Filling; and Pecans, Bourbon Bread Pudding with Butterscotch Ice Cream.

"A diverse array of intriguing ingredients guides the new fall menu created by our Chef Jean-Louis," said Jean Pierre Leroux, General Manager of Waterleaf and the Inn at Water's Edge. "The offerings are both robust and refined, simple and sophisticated, with options for every palate."

Waterleaf in Glen Ellyn features a contemporary approach to fine dining led by Executive Chef Jean-Louis Clerc. Known for its use of fresh, locally-grown, seasonal ingredients, Waterleaf restaurant in Glen Ellyn recently received a three-star review from Crain's Chicago Business. In addition, the fine-dining restaurant has earned Diner's Choice Awards for Best Ambience, Best Overall, Best Service, Fit for Foodies and Special Occasion on, where it maintains a 4.6/5.0 rating.

Most recently, Waterleaf was one of just two first-year restaurants in DuPage County to receive a 2012 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. This award, given annually to restaurants in the U.S. and 65 countries worldwide, recognizes Waterleaf's 200-plus wine selections, the quality of producers included on the list, and the restaurant's thematic matching of wines to its menu in both price and style.
