Mundelein Seminary hosts ‘Addiction and Recovery’ workshop

“Addiction and Recovery” will be the topic of a free workshop from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, at Mundelein Seminary Conference Center, 1000 E. Maple Ave., Mundelein.

This one-day workshop is sponsored by the National Catholic Council on Addictions and is intended for seminarians, parishioners, counselors, social workers and therapists.

The workshop will include sessions on “Spirituality and Recovery from Addictions” presented by Fr. Tom Weston, S.J.; “Establishing a Parish Substance Abuse Ministry,” presented by Deacon Bill Jones and Erik Vagenius, MHS; “The Family and Addictions” by Fr. William Stenzel; “Resources for Addicted Persons and Their Loved Ones” by Marybeth Martin, PHJC; and “Medical Aspects of Addiction” by Mark Menestrina, M.D., FASAM.
