Oakton to host forum for 9th District candidates

Candidates for the U.S. 9th Congressional District will speak at a forum Sunday, Oct. 7, hosted by Oakton Community College in Des Plaines.

Incumbent Jan Schakowsky, an Evanston Democrat, and Republican challenger Timothy Wolfe of Arlington Heights are scheduled to appear at the event, which takes place at 2 p.m. in Room 1600 at 1600 E. Golf Road. Attendees are asked to use Parking Lot C.

The League of Women Voters, Oakton and the Union League Club of Chicago are sponsoring the event, in which audience members can submit written questions for the candidates.

The redrawn 9th District represents Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, Evanston, Glenview, Kenilworth, Mount Prospect, Niles, Northbrook, Northfield, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Rosemont, Wilmette, and Winnetka. Voters with questions about which districts they reside in can go to the Cook County clerk’s website at www.cookcountyclerk.com/elections.
