Welcome to the 2012-13 Leadership Team

Hello, educators and students!

We’re excited to be launching another year of Leadership and Academic Team competition — “friendly” competitions where everyone is a winner and the best and brightest high school students are celebrated.

First up is the 2012-13 Leadership Team, where we celebrate the future leaders — the students who volunteer, are passionate about causes or charities, and put their energy into changing the world for the better. Every year we get an amazing group of kids. Four teams will be named — Northwest Suburban, Lake County, Fox Valley and DuPage County.

For each nominee, download the three forms you see here. One is the Overview — please read this in full, but you will not return it.

The two forms that must be filled out and returned are the Application form and the Nomination form. Follow the instructions on each form. They MUST be filled out on the computer, and returned as Microsoft Word documents (no PDF’s). The color photos of the students MUST be at least 200 dpi jpegs. No photos taken with cellphones or webcams will be accepted — they look terrible in print. Make sure your photos are attachments — not embedded into the forms.

Educators: This year we are choosing our judges from among the nominating schools. A judge can be anyone at a nominating school willing to undertake the job, from the principal on down. Judges will NOT evaluate students from their own school’s geographic area. Please fill out the line on the Application asking who at your school can volunteer to judge. Thank you!

All nominations must be returned to academics@dailyherald.com by Friday, Oct. 26.
