Body discovered after fire:
The body of an unidentified person was discovered early Monday following a house fire on the 1700 block of Midland Avenue in Highland Park, authorities said. The blaze, which also damaged an adjacent home, was reported shortly before 12:45 a.m. Authorities believe the body is that of a male resident, Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey said. An autopsy was conducted Monday, but details were not immediately available. Highland Park firefighters and the state fire marshal are investigating the cause of the blaze.
