Life on the farm
See a variety of farm equipment and watch sheepherding demonstrations and a tractor parade at the annual Farm Heritage Festival at the Lakewood Forest Preserve, Route 176, just west of Fairfield Road, Wauconda. Other activities include music, a petting zoo, food and more. Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for seniors and kids, and free for ages 3 or younger. Gotta get a gourd

Ghosts from the past
The Elgin Area Historical Society hosts its 25th annual Historic Elgin Cemetery Walk at Bluff City Cemetery, 941 Bluff City Blvd., Elgin.
