Naperville man gets probation, jail for child porn

A Naperville man has been sentenced to jail and probation for aggravated child pornography.

David Denofrio, 39, pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to 45 days in jail and 30 months of probation, according to court records. He also must register as a sex offender.

Denofrio was arrested last September after the Naperville Police Department’s High Technology Crimes Unit searched his apartment in the Ponds of Naperville complex on the 1300 block of Modaff Road. Authorities said they found hundreds of pornographic images on his computer, some involving girls younger than 13.

DuPage County Judge Daniel Guerin sentenced Denofrio according to a plea agreement with prosecutors. The agreement specifically bars Denofrio from handing out candy to minors at Halloween or dressing as the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus at holiday events involving children, according to court records.

If convicted of the charge at trial, Denofrio would have faced up to seven years in prison.
