Rash of vehicle burglaries in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police are investigating a rash of 13 vehicle burglaries that took place over the course of three days this week.

The burglaries occurred during the evening and night time hours between Sept. 17 and 19. Vehicles targeted were parked in retail center and hotel parking lots or in residential driveways. A majority of the burglarized vehicles were left unlocked, though in some cases the burglars smashed windows to gain access.

Among the types of items stolen were: purses/wallets, iPhones and cellphones, GPS units, Bluetooth keyboard, laptop computer, sunglasses, a knife.

The offenders are unknown at this time, according to police.
