Antioch Mayor Larry Hanson on Thursday announced he will seek a second term. Economic conditions remain a serious concern, he said in a news release, and wants another term to continue the course of fiscal responsibility pursued during his tenure. He noted that staffing levels have been reduced by nearly a third while services have been delivered more efficiently. The village has a balanced budget and has established a reserve, he said in the release. Other initiatives include the rebuilding of Main and Depot streets, North Avenue and Woodcreek Drive, construction of Sprenger Park and rebuilding the swimming pool at Williams Park, Hanson said.
