Prospect soars to 63rd straight MSL win

It was windy at the Mt. Prospect Golf Club on Wednesday.

But the Knights breezed through their final Mid-Suburban League test to finish with a 11-0 league record and 63rd straight conference dual meet win.

Kiley Walsh (36), Noreen Caporusso (37), Noelle Johnston (38), Ally Scaccia (43) and Kacie O’Donnell (43) were the low scores for the Knights, who posted a 154-181 triumph over visiting Barrington.

“I thought the par was about 37 with the wind,” said Knights coach Jim Hamann about the par-35 layout. “The girls played very well. Noreen Caporusso and Kiley Walsh played very solid with no big mistakes.”

Johnston came in with a season-low round of nine.

“That was great to see from Noelle in the wind,” Hamann said. “We also putted much better. I am very proud of the efforts from all 11 of my kids these past few weeks.”

Sophomore Heather Ciskowski’s round of 39 led the Fillies.

Kelly Umphred (46), Molly Fruecht (47) and Bailee McDonald (49) were the next high scores for Barrington.

Buffalo Grove d. Conant: Grace Kil (38), Courtney Meyer (41), Kelly Zickert (44) and Amber Guiao (49) had the top rounds for Buffalo Grove in a 172-177 win over Conant.
