Pitching matchups: The White Sox' Jose Quintana (6-4) vs. Doug Fister (9-8) Monday at 1:10 p.m.

At a glance: This is the makeup game from Thursday, which was rained out. The White Sox increased their lead over the second-place Tigers to 2 games Sunday while completing a three-game sweep of the Twins at Minnesota. The Tigers lost 7-6 at Cleveland when closer Jose Valverde couldn't hold a 6-5 lead in the ninth inning. After missing seven games with a strained right oblique, Adam Dunn is back in the Sox' lineup. Dunn returned Saturday and hit a mammoth home run in Sunday's 9-2 victory. Quintana beat Detroit at the Cell last Monday, allowing 1 run on 7 hits in 7 innings. Fister beat the White Sox last Tuesday, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits in 7 innings. Tigers catcher Alex Avila had to leave Sunday's game after colliding with teammate Prince Fielder. Detroit is 12-5 vs. the Sox this season.
