About this Article

Phil Giacone aspires to become a police officer, and the training he's getting as one of the original Hoffman Estates Police Explorer Post 806 members is giving him the experience to do just that. The program, started by officer Lisa Notarnicola, provides training in everything from felony traffic stops to live-fire competition." I want to be a police officer, I'm very good in stressful situations," Giacone said, "it gets my adrenaline pumping. It's a job that you're not behind a desk from 9 to 5."
