District 73 hosts info sessions for parents

Hawthorn District 73 in Vernon Hills is offering Parent University in a new format. Information sessions will highlight specific areas of interest beginning with how schools are graded at 6 p.m. Sept. 24. All sessions will be at 6 p.m. at the district office, 841 West End Court, before select Board of Education meetings. The first Parent University of the year will talk about how schools are graded using the parameters of No Child Left Behind mandates — The ABCs of AYP. Registration is not required. Parent University sessions are also planned for Oct. 29 (Mathematics); Nov. 26 (Science); Jan. 28 (PE/Health and Wellness); Feb. 25 (English Language Arts), and April 22 (World Languages).
