Lake Villa Township Lions to host charity bowling tournament

Lake Villa Township Lions will hold an 8-pin no-tap bowling tournament on Sunday, Oct. 7, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Lakes Bowl, 601 Railroad Ave., Round Lake.

The club is raising funds to send local youth to the Lions of Illinois Camp for blind/low vision and deaf/hard of hearing youth next summer.

There will be team cash prizes for first, second and third place. In addition, there will be prizes for best team name, best bowling shirts, highest and lowest scores, most gutter balls and most true strikes. There will also be 50/50 and bag raffles.

Entry fee is $20 for three games and preregistration is required by Sept. 28.

Registration forms may be picked up at The Twisted Cow, 2112 Grand Ave., Lindenhurst, or American Family Insurance, 111 Cedar Ave., Lake Villa. You may also print the form found on the website www.lakevillalions.org.

The Lions of Illinois Foundation exists to assist in the general improvement of the quality of life of those in Illinois having unmet needs. It is the specific mission of the Foundation to provide quality programs and services to the people of Illinois for the detection, treatment, and rehabilitation of visual and hearing impairments.
