Metra parking lot more expensive for Prospect Heights

The city of Prospect Heights will continue to lease land from ComEd for the Metra parking lot at 55 S. Wolf Road, at least until 2015, but the utility won’t get the kind of increase in pay it was initially looking for. Mayor Nick Helmer said ComEd suggested the lease should rise from $14,000 to $54,000 annually. “That is not going to happen,” Helmer said Monday. An agreement was reached, extending the lease to 2015 and with the city agreeing to raise its payment by $1,000 each year, so that by 2015 it will pay $18,063. The fares for parking in the lot will not change, said Helmer. In 2015 the parties will review the contract.
