Barrington soaks up victory over Evanston

Kirsten Jacobsen and Mekenna Scheitlin each won two races and had legs on two winning relays as Barrington earned a 110-75 dual meet victory over Evanston on Saturday.

Scheitlin’s individual wins came in the 200-yard IM (2:10.09) and the 100 breaststroke (1:08.48), and Jacobsen won the 200 free (1:54.01) and 100 free (53.74).

Emma Barnett won the 500 free (5:15.43) and had legs on the winning freestyle relays. Kelsey Holmes won the 100 back (1:02.90), and led off the medley and 400 free relays.

Lisa Danhauer (50 free, 26.12) and Olivia Hoffman (100 fly, 1:02.57) also won events for the Fillies, and Andrea Vega had spots on the medley and 400 free relays.

St. Viator Invitational: Mother McAuley and St. Ignatius took the top two spots in Saturday’s invitational hosted by St. Viator, ahead of third-place Elk Grove, fourth-place Huntley, fifth-place Prospect and the host Lions in sixth.

Simona Kurta produced second-place finishes for Elk Grove in the 200 IM and 100 fly, and Grens frosh Nikki Sugihara was second in the 50 free and 100 back. Angelica Ford finished third in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle.

Prospect’s top individual finish came from Macey Berkely in the 100 breaststroke.

St. Viator’s Jackie Rose took second place in the 100 and 200 freestyles.
