Dundee-Crown takes 3rd at Bartlett

The Dundee-Crown girls volleyball team went 3-2 Saturday and took third place at the Bartlett Invitational.

The Chargers beat Bartlett and Fenton before losing to Kaneland and West Chicago, then came back to beat Rockford Lutheran to take third.

Jillian Hostetler (23 kills, 4 aces) and Steph Magsamen (21 kills, 50 digs, 7 aces) led the Chargers. Lauren Lococo (15 kills, 38 digs), Cori Eischen (14 kills, 62 assists, 21 digs, 4 aces), Sam Pagano (10 kills, 7 aces, 6 blocks) and Franki Scarpelli (15 digs) also contributed.

Larkin went 2-2 on the day and finished fifth. The Royals (7-7) beat Woodstock North and Bartlett but lost to West Chicago and Rockford Lutheran.

Olivia Kofie (27 kills, 5 aces, 29 digs, 11 blocks), Brianna Stewart (28 kills, 8 blocks, 19 digs), Alyssa McGhee (45 assists, 12 digs), Diana Castillo (27 assists), Amelia Gill (40 digs), Paige Grantham (10 blocks), Alexis Price (13 kills, 9 digs) and Anna Gaston (11 kills, 13 digs) stood out for the Royals.

Bartlett was 1-3 in the tournament, beating Fenton. Rachel Hartford (16 kills, 17 digs), Katie Hrbacek (14 kills), Elizabeth Arco (11 kills, Lexi Cazzato (14 digs) and Danielle Santucci (52 assists) led the Hawks (3-12).

Jacobs 2nd at VH: Jacobs rolled into the championship match at the Vernon Hills Invite but lost to Glenbrook North. The Golden Eagles defeated Lake Park, St. Viator, Vernon Hills and Carmel prior to the title match. Alyssa Ehrhardt (53 kills, 32 digs, 26 aces), Kassie Kasper (26 digs), Rachel Arceneaux (14 kills), Mackie Traub (9 aces, 44 assists), Taylor Lauder (48 assists, 15 digs), Bridget Wellenberger (13 kills, 14 aces) and Rachel Weber (14 kills, 28 digs) led Jacobs (11-3).

Harvest Christian d. Aurora Christian: Jordan Sollars (7 kills, 8 assists, 9 digs) and Sydney Doby (6 kills, 5 digs, 4 aces) led Harvest Christian to a 25-14, 25-20 nonconference win. Shayna Manusos (3 aces, 9 digs) and Sarah Kott (3 aces) also contributed for the Lions.
