Stevenson’s Miller medalist at Waukegan

Ally Scaccia will be on the basketball floor for Prospect this winter.

But for now, the Knights junior is netting some solid shots on the golf course.

Scaccia shot a team-low 81 on the par 72 layout at Bonnie Brook in Waukegan to help lift the Knights (336) to a second-place finish behind Hinsdale Central (315) in the Waukegan Invite on Saturday.

Stevenson sophomore Stephanie Miller earned medalist honors with an even par 72 while Barrington junior Heather Ciskowski took second with a 76.

Other scores that counted for Prospect coach Jim Hamann’s Class AA defending state champs were junior Kiley Walsh (82), junior Noreen Caporusso (83) and sophomore Isabella Flack (87).

Scaccia, who earlier in the week recorded her personal best nine holes of 35 at the Mt. Prospect Golf Course, collected 3 birdies, 6 pars and 3 double bogeys for her round of 81 Saturday.

“My drives were all over the place but my irons went pretty well,” said Scaccia, who required just one putt on four holes. “It was pretty windy so you had to come in low with your shots. Hinsdale Central shot real well.”

St. Viator Invite: Buffalo Grove (318) took first place at the Deerfield Golf Club followed by Loyola (329) and St. Viator (335) in the 11-team field.

Meet runner-up Amber Guiao led BG with a 74 followed by third-place finisher Grace Kil (75), Courtney Meyer (80) and Kelli Ticket (89).

The Lions were paced by medalist Dana Gattone (72), Amy Stringfellow (82), Christy Wimberly (89) and Haley Gainer (92).
