Celebrate Pioneer Day in Elk Grove on Sept. 16

Join in the fall festivities at the annual Pioneer Day celebration from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Elk Grove Historical Museum.

The event will feature live farm animals, historical demonstrations such as candle-making and weaving, and an array of historic characters dressed in costume.

Create a toy from the past, play old-fashioned games, and enjoy guided tours of the 1856 farmhouse. Build a scarecrow with the Elk Grove Garden Club for only $7.

Light refreshments will be available for purchase.

Pioneer Day is presented by the Elk Grove Park District and the Elk Grove Historical Society. Admission is free.

The Farmhouse Museum Campus is a facility of the Elk Grove Park District and is located at 399 Biesterfield Road, in Elk Grove Village. This event is sponsored by the Elk Grove Historical Society.
