• DeShonta Hill, 38, of the 1000 block of Byron Lane, was charged with felony retail theft after police said she stole less than $300 in merchandise Thursday from Wal-Mart on Randall Road, according to a police report. Hill was charged with a felony due to a previous conviction for retail theft. Her bail was set Friday at $25,000, which means she needs to post $2,500 to be released pending a Sept. 19 court date.

• Four street and entrance signs in the Eva Estates subdivision near Huntley in Rutland Township were damaged or destroyed between Aug. 31 and 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to a sheriff's report.
