Waldorf hosts public party:

Water’s Edge Waldorf School, 150 W. Bonner Road, Wauconda, is hosting a free public celebration of its new identity as Da Vinci Waldorf School with live music, food and family activities from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. The name change denotes what is unique and valuable about Waldorf education, according to school officials. Leonardo da Vinci was a master of art, science and invention and learned by hands-one experimentation. During the grand opening, visitors will draw forms from sacred geometry, learn to knit, throw a javelin, grind grain, bake bread, and more. Guests will also enjoy free popcorn and snow cones.
