Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association is a nonprofit organization that exists to promote and educate girls in the skill, knowledge, sportsmanship and love of the sport of lacrosse. The Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association was created to offer all girls the opportunity to learn and play lacrosse.

The IGLA offers leagues, camps and clinics in many communities throughout the area. Over 1,700 Chicago area girls participated in the spring. Fall league dates are Sept. 9-Oct. 21.

In the upcoming fall league, all players will receive equal playing time and will be played in all positions. Age groups for the fall league are third/fourth grade, fifth/sixth grade, and seventh/eighth/ninth grade.

Practices are from 5:30-7 p.m. at Cardinal Park, 155 W. Illinois Ave., in Palatine. Practices will include skill development, scrimmaging and team building. Most games are played between noon and 5 p.m. on Sundays at Ron Beese Field in Barrington and other Northwest division locations. Games will begin one week into the season and will consist of 15-20 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.
