Round Lake Area Unit District 116 has announced that all seven of its nominees will receive the state's Those Who Excel award. Officials said the awards will be given at a banquet hosted by the Illinois State Board of Education in October. The program annually recognizes and honors those who have made outstanding contributions to public and nonpublic elementary and secondary education. District 116's recipients are: Judy Armstrong, Community Volunteer Award; Jeffry Prickett, principal, Round Lake Middle School, School Administrator Award; Brooke Brenner and Deb Arthurs, sixth-grade teachers at John T. Magee Middle School, Team Award; Heather Bennett, executive assistant to superintendent, Educational Service Personnel Award; Kathy Myers, social worker at Round Lake High, Student Support Personnel Award; and Georgann Vetrano, music teacher at Magee and Round Lake Village Elementary School, Classroom Teacher Award.
