Prosecutors said Smith had been at the residence of the victim on the 1700 block of Marywood Avenue earlier in the night but returned about 1:30 a.m. with a dangerous weapon.

The witness who was inside with the victim escaped and called police.

Smith took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim during the robbery.

As part of the plea, Smith agreed to pay the victim $2,500 in restitution.
