Zoo officials are heartened by the new addition which increases the zoo's population of endangered Grevy's zebra.

Voters can choose from four Swahili names including "Akili," which means clever, and "Hanisi," which means born Thursday.

The newborn's brother Enzi was born in 2010 and still lives at the Lincoln Park Zoo with his parents.

Officials say the newborn zebra is in a private area for now but should be viewable by the public at the zoo's Antelope & Zebra area soon.
