Holiday enforcement events

The Lake County Sheriff's Office will be out in force during the upcoming Labor Day weekend. Several special enforcement events have been scheduled and include the following: Friday, Aug. 31, the office will conduct an eight-hour detail throughout the county concentrating on construction zone violations, including speeding and the use of cellular phones or other electronic devices within the boundaries of the zones; Saturday, Sept. 1, the office will assist Gurnee Police Department with a roadside safety check at Six Flags Great America; Sunday, Sept. 2, the office will conduct a four-hour DUI enforcement/traffic enforcement throughout the county.
