Algonquin woman airlifted from Crystal Lake crash

A 22-year-old Algonquin woman was airlifted from the scene of a rollover crash in Crystal Lake Monday afternoon.

The woman was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty when the vehicle rolled over on McHenry Avenue between Monterey Drive and Dartmoor Drive at approximately 4:36 p.m., according to police.

Paramedics determined the injuries were not life threatening, but required immediate medical attention, according to police.

A helicopter from Rockford flew to the scene and transported the victim to Advocate Lutheran General in Park Ridge.

Police said the woman was driving southbound on McHenry Avenue when she left the roadway on the west side and struck a mailbox and support post.

The vehicle continued off the roadway and rolled onto its roof, but the woman was able to exit the vehicle on her own.

Traffic was diverted from the area for more than an hour.
