Elk Grove parolee charged with robbing Fox River Grove home

A 29-year-old Elk Grove Village man who was out on parole has been charged with burglarizing a Fox River Grove residence, according to police.

Fox River Grove police responded to a home on Bradbury Court at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man in a garage trying to break into the residence, police announced Wednesday.

The man took off on foot when officers arrived, but the resident was able to provide officers with a detailed description of the suspect, according to police.

Officers located the suspect, Zachary White of the 300 block of Spruce Lane in Elk Grove Village, and took him into custody after a short foot chase, according to police.

Although White did not rob the home on Bradbury, officers found items that linked him to a residential burglary that occurred hours earlier on the 600 block of Hunters Way, according to police.

Police said they recovered jewelry, medications and electronics stolen from the residence while taking White into custody.

White was charged with residential burglary and attempted residential burglary.

White is currently on parole for a previous armed robbery conviction in Indiana.

He was taken to McHenry County jail and is being held on $50,000 bail.
