‘Book of Mormon’ extends Chicago run

“The Book of Mormon” is set to do more proselytizing than expected in Chicago.

The adults-only, nine-time Tony Award-winning musical by Matt Stone and Trey Parker (“South Park”) and Jeff Lopez (“Avenue Q”) will now run until June 2 at the Bank of America Theatre in Chicago.

Strong ticket sales for the Chicago engagement of “The Book of Mormon” prompted the extension, which was originally only supposed to run for 12 weeks starting on Dec. 11. The show’s original production at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre in New York has been a continual sellout for more than a year. A touring production of the show just launched in Denver this month.

Tickets for the Chicago extension of “The Book of Mormon” go on sale Friday, Sept. 21. Tickets run from $45-$115. Call (800) 345-7000 or visit broadwayinchicago.com for more information.
