Man in critical condition after Gurnee crash

A man was listed in critical condition Friday night after a rollover crash on Route 41 in Gurnee, authorities said.

The unidentified victim was riding in an SUV with two other adult male occupants about 5:30 p.m. Friday on southbound Route 41 just south of Route 21 when the rollover occurred, according to the Gurnee Fire Department.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, so it’s unclear exactly how the accident occurred, fire officials said.

The victim had to be cut from the vehicle by emergency crews. He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The other two men made it out of the vehicle on their own and refused medical treatment.

Southbound lanes of Route 41 were shut down for about a half-hour during the emergency response.
