Libertyville clears food center:

A Christian charity that provides meals for malnourished children around the world has been cleared to open a preparation center in Libertyville. The village board on Tuesday approved a dry meal packing plant operation for Feed My Starving Children at the Park Avenue Corporate Center, 740 E. Park Ave. (Route 176). This would be the Minnesota-based group’s third Chicago-area location. Volunteers from community groups, schools, businesses and places of worship would hand-pack meals in sealing bags on a shift basis ultimately to be shipped to children in one of 70 countries. The site would employ 15 to 30 part- and full-time employees. Operators hope to be open the first week in November.
